- iPhone 5 Won't Support Simultaneous Voice and Data on Verizon or Sprint The iPhone 5 will not support voice and data transmission at the same time on Verizon's and Sprint's networks, even when connected to LTE. AT&T, on the other hand, will allow simultaneous voice and data with the iPhone 5, whether it's on their HSPA+ network or LTE. [The Verge]
- Verizon Wireless To Include Cellular FaceTime on All Data Plans Unlike AT&T, who's only allowing FaceTime for shared data users, Verizon is allowing FaceTime with all of their data plans. FaceTime over 3G will be available with iOS 6 when it releases on September 19. [WSJ]
- Ping Is Over September 30th, Apple No Longer Accepting New Members We already know iTunes 11 will come with Facebook integration when it arrives in October, which means that Apple's music-based social network Ping is left in the dust. - Nintendo Unveils "Nintendo TVii" for Wii U Nintendo announced new details for its upcoming Wii U gaming console, including a new feature called TVii. A handful of streaming services will be integrated, including Netflix, Hulu Plus, and Amazon Instant. However, DVR functionality and TiVO support will not be included. [Engadget]
- Microsoft Readies Office 2010 to Office 2013 Upgrade Program It's rumored that Microsoft will begin offering Office 2010 customers the chance for a free copy of Office 2013 starting on October 19. The program will likely run for 6-7 months just like the previous one. Office 2013 is rumored to Release to Manufacturing in November and be available to the public sometime early next year. [ZDNet]
